Description

Artists: Jasper Crystal Wizard and Kevin Vann

Synesthesia is a rare phenomenon occurring in the brain where two or more senses interact with each other. For instance, when someone listens to music, they may experience colors and lights (chromesthesia). Or when someone sees number or letter they will be associated with a color (grapheme-color synesthesia). Some have theorized that we are all born with synesthesia, having all the connections between senses but lose them as the brain matures while some retain them. Join us to stretch the brain for this experience!

Join as local artists Jasper Crystal Wizard and Kevin Vann work together to share insights on creativity while combining multiple forms of art, dance, and music. Jasper is a Khmer artist who aims to blur the lines of your senses to explore a new way of storytelling, using visual art, music, and dance. Kevin Vann brings his expertise as a musician to translate the movement into music. Both artists grew up in the Lowell, finding inspiration and support from the artistic community.

Join us Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 11 am for a 2-hour workshop at the Boott Cotton Mills Museum Event Center, 115 John St. The workshop will be an experience of loosening up your creative muscles.
