Description
In cooperation with the SW Washington Chapter of the American Red Cross, Fort Vancouver National Historic is hosting “Be Red Cross Ready,” a disaster preparedness presentation, at 10 am on April 29, 2023. The presentation is open to the public and free of charge.
Safety is the National Park Service's highest priority, and the Red Cross is well recognized as one of the leading national and international organizations in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery worldwide.
Why attend this disaster preparedness training presentation? Disaster preparedness is everyone's job. The program will include making a plan to communicate to your family, so you all know where, when, and what to do. Presenters will also focus on making a special kit of emergency supplies for your home and for your automobile that will be ready to use when needed. Finally, this presentation will emphasize the need to be informed and educate yourself about potential hazards (home fires, floods, windstorms, wildfires, and others) and learn how to plan and prepare for them. You will then be prepared and more confident to safeguard yourself, family and loved ones. The official Red Cross Prepare Guide will be supplied for everyone along with other printed handouts.
