Description

Manhattan Project National Historical Park will be opening up the living history Victory and Pollinator Gardens on May 20, 2023 from 11:00am - 2:00pm ET for the Seeds of Victory Open Garden program. During the Open Gardens, get your hands dirty and plant some seeds and sprouts for the summer growing season, learn about the history of Victory Gardens and rationing across the American Homefront at a ranger talk, and make a seed pot to start your own Victory Garden at home. Two of the park waysides are located at the Victory Gardens and Pollinator Garden, the Open Gardens is a rare chance to check them off your Oak Ridge, TN Wayside card.

Outside of public events, the gardens are open to park staff and volunteers. Manhattan Project National Historical Park began cultivating the Victory Gardens in 2018 to explore the living history of victory gardens in Oak Ridge and produce is donated to local food pantries in Oak Ridge.

Interested in keeping the Victory Gardens at Manhattan Project National Historical Park green all summer long? Contact the park to volunteer.
