Description
From 1839 to 1905, George Boutwell was a major figure in American politics. He was Governor of Massachusetts, served in the U.S. House and Senate, was Commissioner of Internal Revenue for Abraham Lincoln, and Treasury Secretary for Ulysses S. Grant.
Jeffrey Boutwell PhD will discuss his book and his ancestor’s contributions to the nation before and after the Civil War. Dr. Boutwell is a writer, historian, and science policy specialist living in Columbia, Maryland, after a 40-year career in journalism, government and work with international scientific research organizations.
