Description
The Summer Speaker Series continues July 27 & 28, 2019 with flint knapper Don Safford.
Flint knapping is the ancient art of shaping flint, chert, obsidian or other fracturing stone into stone tools, such as arrowheads, spear-points, and knives. Donald has been flint knapping for many years and has attended various knap-ins and provided a variety of programs through the years. He brings with him a wide array of items to view and extensive knowledge on how and where these items were made.
Donald is originally from Texas. He attended the University of Washington and followed up with thirty one years fishing in Alaska. He is married with two grown children and currently lives in Hot Springs Montana.
Please bring your families and take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. Admission is free.
