Description

Join us for a special celebration at Mount Rainier National Park with Ada Limón, the 24th U.S. National Poet Laureate. Limón's visionary project, “You Are Here,” unveils site-specific poem installations across seven iconic U.S. national parks, including Mount Rainier.

Against the backdrop of Mount Rainier's majestic beauty, this unique ceremony will feature a special installation of A. R. Ammons' historic American poem "Uppermost," resonating with the park's natural wonders.

This collaboration marks the inaugural partnership between the National Park ServiceLibrary of Congress, U.S. National Poet Laureate, and Poetry Society of America — highlighting art's power to connect us with our environment.

Ada Limón, acclaimed for her profound poetic voice, is celebrated for collections like the award-winning “The Carrying.” Her tenure as the first Latina Poet Laureate reflects a commitment to restoring our humanity through poetry's transformative potential.

Discover Ada Limón’s inspiring journey and the "You Are Here" project, celebrating poetry's ability to illuminate our connection to the world. Join us as we celebrate this fusion of art and nature in our national parks—an inclusive space inviting exploration and reflection on our diverse landscapes and national heritage.
