Description

On Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at 11 am at the African Burial Ground National Monument, the U.S. National Park Service in collaboration with The Black Women's Leadership Caucus, Inc. will host a Special Dedication and Unveiling of the Forever U.S. Postage Stamp of The Honorable Congressman John A. Lewis. The stamp celebrates the life and legacy of Congressman Lewis who spent more than 30 years in Congress and a lifetime defending our democracy, our civil rights. Congressman Lewis' stamp is the 47th stamp issued in the Black Heritage Series.

The Rev. Al Sharpton will be the keynote speaker. The program includes the U.S. Postal Service Color Guard, a member of the Metropolitan Opera, an aspiring spoken word artist, and gift bags to the first 50 guests.
