POINT REYES STATION, Calif. – From Tuesday, November 1, 2022, through Friday, December 2, 2022, tree work will be conducted at the popular Cypress Tree Tunnel area at Point Reyes National Seashore. Workers will be trimming trees and removing hazard trees during this time. This work will take place 7 am–5 pm, Monday through Friday.
Visitors to the Cypress Tree Tunnel area during this time can expect to see workers. Some closures to the area underneath the Tree Tunnel are expected to occur later in November as tree trimming activities progress down the road.
This work is scheduled only during the work week. Visitors who come to the park on weekends will not be impacted.
The Cypress Tree Tunnel area of the park is the location of the park’s North District Operation Center (NDOC) and historic RCA Coast Station KPH. This double row of trees was planted in the 1930s. This tree work is important to the health and vitality of these historic trees that contribute to the historical landscape.
