Fort Pulaski has close ties with the national pastime as it was played by union soldiers in the fort during the American Civil War.
The two hour program will highlight baseball at Fort Pulaski and get you active and playing. We will conduct a spring training of sorts as park staff teaches the differences between the modern game of baseball and what was played at the fort in 1862. The last hour of each session will conclude with an exhibition game with all of the participants.
No reservations are required and gloves are not needed. They didn’t use them in 1862 afterall! Bring some comfortable sneakers and be ready for some fun as we bring baseball back to Fort Pulaski.
