Employee Profile: Dan Hodgson This issue's employee in the spotlight is Daniel Hodgson. He is our new Facility Manager and started working for Richmond National Battlefield Park/Maggie L. Walker National Historic Site on May 20, 2001. As Facility Manager, Dan is responsible for all maintenance and construction for the park. He has also worked at Rock Creek Park National Park, in the National Capital Region, where he was in charge of Facilities, Roads and Trails for the park. Dan has 28 years of experience in the construction/maintenance field, including 17 with the federal government. He has also been with the Navy Reserve Seabees for 21 years. Dan was born in Pennsylvania, although he has spent the last 37 years living in Virginia. He and his wife, Kerry have been married for 28 years. They have two grown children, Sean, a fire fighter, and Elizabeth, a public affairs specialist. They also have two grandsons, Sean's children with his wife, Casadi. When asked why he joined the National Park Service, Dan said, "Pride in the Service and the distinction of working for an organization that greatly contributes to this nation and its people." He is very glad to be able to stay in Virginia and still further his career and in ten years expects to still be involved with the Facility Management Program within the National Park Service.
