Reading with a Ranger


For Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd grades

To schedule a program, please contact us and include the following information:
  • Name of school
  • Contact at school
  • Type of Program (Reading with a Ranger)
  • Name of Program (see list below)
  • Date of Program (please include at least 3 choices)
  • Grade level/number of students


All of these programs can be presented in the classroom in 30-45 minutes.

Animals in Winter by Henrietta Bancroft & Richard G Van Gelder

Activity: Paper weaving (suitable for 1st/2nd grade)

Activity: Star sticker constellations and pipe cleaner constellations

Save the Bees by Bethany Stahl
Part of the Pollinators to Pioneers program.
Three friends work together to make Clover's pollination route easier.
Activity: students gather "pollen" from different colored flowers and return it to their hive.

Swimming Home by Susan Hand Shetterly
Follow the journey of a school of alewives as they return to their natal lake to spawn.
Activity: Help Pesca swim home to Lily Lake by navigating a simple maze.

Thanks to the Animals by Allen Sockabasin

Activity: Thankful writing/drawing prompt
