Sing a sea chantey, earn a Junior Ranger badge, and take the wheel of a 19th century sailing ship.
There's something special for kids at San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, and the price is right to bring the whole family. It's always free to explore the exhibits in our Visitor Center and to stroll the Hyde Street Pier. To board our beautiful historic ships is $5 per adult; free for kids under 16. And the best part is -- admission is good for seven days!
Programs scheduled throughout June include:
Saturday, June 2, 8 – 10 pm: Chantey Sing! Kids of all ages are welcome at the park’s monthly sing-a-long. Bring a mug along for hot cider served from the ship’s galley. Free program. Reservations required: call 415-561-7171 or e-mail us. Note: after 10 pm, chanteys are “adults only!” Saturday, June 16th, 3 – 3:45 pm: Music of the Sea for Kids! Sunday, June 17th, 12:00 pm: Caulking a Seam. Saturday, June 23rd, 1:30 pm - 2:30pm: Crafts for Kids.
In addition, kids ages 6 – 12 can pick up a free Junior Ranger activity book at the ticket booth or in the Visitor Center. The Junior Ranger program is a fun way for kids to learn about the park and earn a Junior Ranger badge at the same time. For park fun at home, pick up a free edition of The Maritime News and check out the special kids’ page on the back. There’s always an interesting story about the park and a fun puzzle too.
