Update: Site Observation Update Week Mar 2nd

March 07, 2020 Posted by: Anna Mateljak
This week the building framing continues, and it is exciting to see the building shape come together. The glulam, stress-rated engineered wood, support beams were erected at the entry side of the building. Once those were set, the entry side window locations were framed and the support brackets for the entry trellis were installed. To round out a productive week, exterior wall sheathing started, which strengthens the wall systems, provides anchoring surfaces for siding, and gives a layer of protection to outside elements. Remaining interpretive plaza flatwork formwork, rockery wall construction, gravel backfilling, and general site clean-up continue in other parts of the construction site.

Five stress-rated engineer wood beams are erected on the entry side of the building to help support the rest of the building framing construction
The vertical glulam support posts were framed and erected for the window framing and roof support beams.

A wooden building frame with a shed roof style is framed with stress-rated engineer wood beams for the exterior walls and roof, while horizonal wood beams frame out window placement
Once the exterior wall and ceiling support beams were installed, framing the walls for the windows and entry trellis were completed.

Plywood boards are placed to cover the framing on the side of building
With the glulam support posts in place and the framing of the exterior walls and windows built, sheathing the walls on the south side of the building started.
