Murfreesboro, TN – Beginning on Monday July 22, 2024, Rutherford County Road Department crews will be repaving Old Nashville Highway. The current schedule calls for paving operations affecting the Stones River National Battlefield to take place on Friday July 26th and Monday July 29th.

Paving operations may cause minor delays of up to fifteen minutes for visitors exiting the park through our visitor center gate. Access to the tour road entrance at Van Cleve Lane, Stones River National Cemetery and the Hazen Brigade Monument at Tour Stop 5 may be temporarily blocked.

We recommend that visitors enter the park using our main entrance at 1563 N. Thompson Lane, Murfreesboro, TN and ask that drivers exercise caution and follow all flagger directions when entering and driving on Old Nashville Highway.

Please check our website (https://www.nps.gov/stri/index.htm) and Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/StonesRiverNPS/) for updated information on temporary closures and project status.
