Fall is quite literally a cool time to visit national parks. In many parts of the country, the brisk autumn air brings vibrant colors, stunning scenery, and fall festivities and traditions highlighting America's rich cultural heritage. Remember to check ahead of your visit for trip planning, rules, weather, and safety considerations.

A Few Autumn Suggestions

  1. Spot Fall Colors. Many parks become a palette of vibrant colors as fall foliage lights up the landscape.
  2. Celebrate Community. Many communities would historically host gatherings before winter set in. Join annual fall festivities and events that celebrate local traditions and heritage.
