Sarah Slater Pennix was a young teacher who moved to Tennessee just before the Civil War began. With this trunk and its contents, students will learn all about the 19th century woman in the upper South: her fashion, domestic skills, career choices, marriage, raising children and mourning rituals. The trunk contains reproduction clothing, books, DVDs, and suggested activities.
