Thing to Do
Discover a Winter Meadow

Trail: Crescent Meadow Road
Distance: 2.5 miles (4 km) one way
This is one of the most popular ski trails in the Giant Forest – and for good reason. With easy access from Giant Forest Museum, the trail goes along the Moro Rock – Crescent Meadow Road. This gentle sloping trail will take you by dozens of sequoia trees, including the famous Tunnel Log. At the end of the trail, enjoy the serenity of Crescent Meadow. Crescent Meadow is a popular hiking spot in the summer, but very few are fortunate to see it blanketed in snow.
Don’t have any skis? Skis are available for rent at Wuksachi Lodge.
This trail will take you close to the base of Moro Rock, famous for its steep stairway. The climb to the top of Moro Rock is not safe during the winter. Do not climb the stairway if snow or ice is present.
