Fishing on the Natchez Trace Parkway

Fishing is a great way to spend an afternoon. Fishing is allowed in lakes and streams along the Natchez Trace Parkway. Fishing regulations vary by state so you will need to follow the regulations for the state where you want to fish.

A public boat launch site is located at the Colbert Ferry, milepost, 327.3, on the Tennessee River.

Be sure you bring insect repellent, sun screen and drinking water. You can fish all day long.

The Natchez Trace Parkway only has freshwater fishing. Please be aware that there may be water snakes. Learn to identify snakes before you go fishing. All animals on the Natchez Trace Parkway are protected by the National Park Service.
