Hiking at Kings Mountain

Are you ready to take a hike? Are you looking for a long hike, short hike, strenuous, paved? Over 20 miles of hiking trails are offered in Kings Mountain National Military Park, Kings Mountain State Park and Crowders Mountain State Park. Trails range from 1.5 miles to 24 miles in length and from easy to strenuous hikes. All trails are accessed from the Kings Mountain National Military Park Visitor Center.

Backcountry Hiking
Battlefield Trail - 1.5 mile. Begins and ends behind Visitor Center. Battlefield trail is all paved and is steep in some areas. Benches are located on the trail.
Kings Mountain Backcountry Trails
All distances noted are one-way. Blue blazed trees.
- Browns Mountain Trail - 2.6 miles
- Clarks Creek Trail (Lake Crawford in Kings Mountain State Park) - 3 miles
- Loop Trail - 16-mile trail through Kings Mountain National and State Parks.
Ridgeline Trail to Crowders Mountain State Park, NC
All distances noted are one-way. Red blazed trees.
- Start of Ridgeline Trail - 1.9 miles (towards Lake Crawford)
- Boulders Access Area - 5.2 miles
- Sparrow Springs Area (Visitor Center at Crowders Mountain SP) -12.7 miles

Near Visitor Center
Hiking trail begins near the Visitor Center, go out pass the Victory Garden. You will see trailhead sign with distances, trails are marked with blue blazes on trees.
Battlefield Trail begins and ends behind Visitor Center. Battlefield Trail is 1.5 mile loop.

Accessibility Information
The Battlefield Trail is all paved with rubberized surface and wheelchair accessible, however the trail has steep, sharp curves.
