Hike to Mount LeConte on the Appalachian Trail and Boulevard Trail

The longest of the five routes to Mount LeConte, this strenuous, 16.2-mile (26.1-km) hike offers a variety of views and includes the Appalachian Trail. Charlies Bunion, a rocky outcrop, is a short but rewarding detour. High-elevation forest lines the trail and visitors may spot red squirrels or other wildlife.

Park at Newfound Gap Overlook and follow the Appalachian Trail for 2.7 miles (4.3 km) to the intersection with the Boulevard Trail which leads to the summit. Near the top, the best views are at Cliff Top and Myrtle Point, both marked with signs.
