The Lily Lake Trail offers excellent views of Lily Lake and near by mountain peaks, including Longs Peak, Mount Meeker, and Twin Sisters. This trail is fairly level and strollers are allowed.

• Trail type: Loop, Easy

There is an observation pier and picnic tables located near the Lily Lake Trailhead. Lily Lake is an excellent place for wildlife viewing and bird watching. 

Pets are not allowed on this trail or any trails inside Rocky Mountain National Park.

Help Keep Wildlife Wild! Sometimes the best relationship is a long-distance relationship. Never approach or feed wildlife. If a wild animal changes its behavior, you are too close!

Enjoy a scenic walk around Lily Lake or hike up Lily Mountain. The trailhead for Twin Sisters is located across the street, across Highway 7.

Lily Lake

Lily Lake is located on the east side of Rocky Mountain National Park, south of the town of Estes Park. To get to the Lily Lake, drive south from downtown Estes Park and follow the signs for CO-Highway 7. Lily Lake Parking Area is approximately 7 miles south of the Estes Park Visitor Center in downtown Estes Park. A vault toilet, picnic tables, and an observation pier are available at the Lily Lake Parking Area.

Accessibility Information

The Lily Lake Loop Trail is 0.8 miles (1.3 km). The trail is hard-packed and fairly flat. There is an elevation gain of 100 feet.
