Historic Alley Mill Talk

NPS Photo
Tour the iconic and historic Alley Roller Mill at Alley Spring. Alley Mill is rumored to be the most photographed mill in the state and perhaps the nation. Featured on a U.S. Quarter in 2017 as part of the America the Beautiful Quarter Series, its image is widely known. A vibrant red coat of paint bounces off the blue hue of over 81 millions gallons of water daily being discharged by Alley Spring. Alley Mill is breathtaking in any season but its doors are only open during the summer months. The historic mill is one of the most well preserved of its kind. Activities around the site include camping, hiking, paddling, swimming and fishing. However, Alley Spring is a protected area so swimming, fishing and wading are prohibited in the spring. Come see this iconic structure that has stood the test of time since 1894. Come hear rangers talk about the historic mill and community at the bottom of every hour during the summer months.
