Visit the Wright Brothers Memorial and get a selfie with Orville and Wilbur!
The First Flight sculpture that depicts the events of the first manned, powered, heavier-than-air flight accomplished by the Wright Brothers. The sculpture features a life sized replica of the 1903 flyer and statues of the witnesses and Orville and Wilbur Wright on December 17, 1903.
Pose next to Orville on the flyer and image what it would feel like to fly for the first time!

The sculpture is generally accessible.
The sculpture can be reached by car and driving along the Loop Road that goes around Big Kill Devil Hill and the Monument.
The sculpture can also be accessed by foot, with a short 3/4 mile walk from the visitor center along the paths around the monument.
Handicap parking is available next to the sculpture.
