View the Overlooks at the Canyon Rim Visitor Center

At Canyon Rim Visitor Center there are easily walkable overlooks to views overlooking the New River Gorge Bridge and the New River Gorge. Stop by the visitor center for a map or to talk to a ranger and then take a short walk to the overlooks.

Pets must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet at all times. Leashes protect pets from becoming lost, from hazardous wildlife encounters, and from scaring or threatening wildlife. Leashes also protect other visitors who may be afraid, allergic, or who do not want a pet approaching them.

The boardwalk and overlooks are generally accessible via paved sidewalks and a wooden walkway. There is a lower overlook that is 178 steps down which is not considered accessible.
