These electronic files were converted from magnetic tape interviews conducted by Theodore Roosevelt biographer and Roosevelt Memorial Association Director Hermann Hagedorn, and his daughter Mary, at Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace during the years 1955 and 1956. The digital conversion of the original magnetic tapes was achieved through a collaboration with historian and Theodore Roosevelt biographer, Dr. Michael Cullinane.

The Women's Roosevelt Memorial Association and the Roosevelt Memorial Association, both formed in 1919, merged in 1956 to become the Theodore Roosevelt Association.

The interviews are of Roosevelt family acquaintences recalling memories and anecdotes about Roosevelt family members.

In the image to the right are members of both the WRMA and RMA, photographed in 1929, in the front parlor of Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace, then known as Roosevelt House.
