Help Support Field Trips!

Vote for Theodore Roosevelt!

Presumably you missed the last chance to vote for TR. Here's another chance to support this dynamic President!

The National Trust for Historic Preservation is sponsoring a "Buffalo Matters" on-line voting competition to award $10,000 to the top vote-getting institution! Best yet, the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site Foundation is one of the four candidates!

If the TR Site is the winning entry, it will use the award to support school visits for underprivileged youngsters from districts in need. The award will enable the Site to provide TR Site visits for an estimated 1,000 students from Western New York who otherwise would never have this opportunity to visit this locally and nationally significant site, or to experience the transformative power of an historic place. During their visit, students will learn how TR worked ceaselessly to change the nation and better life for all Americans, despite the many challenges facing early 20th century America. Please help students to find out how participation in public life can change the world.

In a time of shrinking school funding, field trips are increasingly viewed as a dispensable luxury. Let's enable 1,000 WNY students to experience a field trip like the ones we remember.

Please remember to forward this message to your friends and encourage their vote as well, and ask them to pass it along. We need your help to carry the day! Remember:

"It is not only your right to vote, but it is your duty if you are indeed freemen and American citizens." - Theodore Roosevelt, Richland, NY, October 29, 1898.
