Theodore Roosevelt National Park is celebrating National Park Week with a trio of exciting events offering opportunities for adventure, exploration, and giving back to nature. Mark your calendars and join us!

Junior Ranger Day – April 19, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM MST Calling all young explorers! Celebrate Junior Ranger Day at Peaceful Valley Ranch in the South Unit. Kids can participate in hands-on activities, discover the wonders of nature, and earn their official Junior Ranger badge. It’s a perfect opportunity for families to enjoy a day of learning and fun.

Guided Hike – April 20, 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM MST Join Ranger Peelee for a special National Park Week guided hike on Sunday, April 20. This 4-mile round-trip adventure will take you to the park’s only sandstone arch, offering incredible views along the way. Expect a moderate 2 to 2.5-hour hike. Meet at the Halliday Well Trailhead, located at Mile 7 on the South Unit Scenic Drive. Wear sturdy hiking boots, bring plenty of water, and dress for the weather.

Spring Clean-Up Day – April 26, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM MST Help keep Theodore Roosevelt National Park beautiful by joining our Spring Clean-Up Day. Volunteers of all ages are welcome to participate. Meet at the South Unit Visitor Center in Medora, ND, and lend a hand as we clear debris and spruce up the park for the season. We’ll provide gloves and garbage bags — just bring sturdy hiking boots, water, and weather-appropriate gear.

National parks and communities are ever-changing. Whether it is in nature, history, opportunities to experience places, or our journeys, public lands offer visitors an environment to transform and grow.
