Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument Advisory Council

Per the Monument's Enabling Legislation, an advisory council was formed to provide guidance for the management of the monument. The council will have up to 10 members, appointed by the Secretary of Interior, with one nominated representative (either a member or nominated by the members) from each of the following entities: Clark County Commission, Las Vegas City Council, North Las Vegas City Council, Las Vegas Paiute Tribe, Southern Nevada conservation community, Nellis Air Force Base, State of Nevada, a county resident with a background that reflects the monument’s purposes, and two individuals from the same or adjacent counties with paleontology experience.

The Tule Springs Fossil Beds Advisory Council (Council) meets 3 times per year to discuss park planning and other matters related to the Monument. In accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act, the National Park Service is required to give notice when the Council will meet. The meeting is open to the public. Interested persons may make oral or written presentations to the Council during the business meeting or file written statements. Requests to address the Council should be made to the Superintendent prior to the meeting. Members of the public may submit written comments by mailing them to the TUSK Superintendent, Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument, 601 Nevada Way, Boulder City, NV 89005, or by email e-mail us. All written comments will be provided to members of the Council.
