Jemez Springs, NM – From October 7 through October 15, we will be hosting the Valles Caldera Fall Fiesta—a time of specially themed ranger programs, family activities, cultural demonstrations and artwork, and educational booths celebrating the natural and cultural resources and values of the park.

Daily themes will include volcanoes, cultural history, ecology, wildlife, sustainability, and astronomy. Visit the Fall Fiesta web page (https://www.nps.gov/vall/planyourvisit/fall-fiesta.htm) for additional details about each day’s activities.

With bugling bull elk, glimmering fall colors, and cool mountain air, this is a fantastic time to visit Valles Caldera for the first time or the hundredth.

Valles Caldera National Preserve | About 1.25 million years ago, a spectacular volcanic eruption created the 13-mile wide circular depression now known as Valles Caldera. The preserve is known for its huge mountain meadows, abundant wildlife, and meandering streams. The area also preserves the homeland of ancestral native peoples and embraces a rich ranching history. Visit us at nps.gov/vall.
