This regimental unit marker is located 200 yards south of the Iowa Memorial. Companies F, G, H, I, and K were attached to Brig. Gen. Peter J. Osterhaus' 9th Division of Maj. Generals' John A. McClernand (relieved 6/19/1863) and Edward O.C. Ord's 13th Army Corps and commanded by Lt. Col. Daniel B. Bush Jr. (Refer to Osterhaus of Missouri).
