Summer jobs at Virgin Islands National Park!

The Student Conservation Association (SCA), America’s #1 conservation service organization seeks qualified applicants to lead, educate, and inspire students for the Virgin Islands National Park summer 2019 Youth Conservation Corp program.

The YCC is a summer youth employment program that engages young people in meaningful work experiences on national parks, forests, wildlife refuges, and fish hatcheries while developing an ethic of environmental stewardship and civic responsibility.   

SCA Field Leader Positions (2)

The Student Conservation Association (SCA) is seeking two individuals to lead the summer Youth Conservation Corp (YCC) program at Virgin Islands National Park on St John from June 17 through August 6. Field Leader positions are open to those 21 and older who have strong field experience and a desire to lead, motivate, inspire and guide.

Pay for SCA crew leaders is $600/week, 40 hours per week.

YCC Crew Positions (8)

Not quite old enough to be a crew leader? Then join the crew! If you are between 15 and 18 years old, and want a paid summer job, then come join us at Virgin Island National Park! Come work on a variety of projects, like trails, natural resource conservation, and visitor education. For more information, contact Laurel Brannick laurel_brannick@nps.gov or call (340) 776.6201 x 238. Fill out the application online at https://www.nps.gov/subjects/youthprograms/ycc.htm. You may also pick up applications at the Cruz Bay Visitor Center on St John. Pay is $10.50 per hour, 40 hours per week.  

The dates for YCC crew members are June 24 through August 2, and YCC crew applications should be  emailed to e-mail us or mail applications to: Virgin Islands National Park, Attn: Janice Williams, 1300 Cruz Bay Creek, St. John, VI 00830. You may also drop off your application at the Park Visitor Center in Cruz Bay.

Housing and meals are not included for either the leader or crew positions. Plan on bringing your lunch!  

A subsidy will be provided to those who must travel to St John from St Thomas via the public ferry.
