Park History

The legistlation authorizing the establishment of Voyageurs National Park was signed into law by President Richard M. Nixon on January 8, 1971. Four years later, on April 8, 1975 the Federal Register published the Secretary's order officially establishing Voyageurs as the nation's 36th national park.
