April 25, 2012, Open House and Webinar featuring the Mariposa Grove Restoration Project The open house will feature an update on the Restoration of the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias project. The goal of the project is to restore the ecological health of the Grove and improve the visitor experience at the South Entrance and Grove. Since public scoping closed on February 3, 2012, an interdisciplinary planning team has been working hard on the ongoing environmental planning and design efforts. With input from public scoping, and through a series of design charettes, park staff/subject matter experts, and the design team have been working together to formulate basic site design concepts. We will share some of these preliminary design concepts, and discuss some of our design challenges and ideas for how we might restore the Grove; provide sustainable operations, facilities, and access; and improve the overall visitor experience. For those unable to attend the open house in person, the presentation will also be available online via a webinar at yose.webex.com. Don't Forget to Send in Your Merced River Plan Comments!
