When is the Park Open?

The park is open year round. The primary months to visit are June, July, and August. There are reduced services in the area during the months of May and September.

The Visitor Centers are open from Memorial Day weekend (last weekend of May) through Labor Day (first Monday of September) unless otherwise noted.

Is the Road to Exit Glacier Open?

Check Current Conditions to see the most updated road status. The road to the Exit Glacier area, the only road into the park, is not plowed during the winter months and is closed to automobiles. This means the park is inaccessible by car when the road is covered in snow, typically from sometime in October to May depending on the year.

Can you Still Access the Park in Winter?

During the extended winter season, it becomes a great spot for winter activities, including cross-country skis, fat-tire bikes, snowmobiles, and more.

The park's coastal backcountry is also inaccessible late fall through early spring due to rough seas.
