Current Closures

New Jersey

• Karamac Parking Area and Trail

• Cadoo Access closed weekends and holidays

Pennsylvania

• Freeman Tract closed weekends and holidays

• McDade Recreational Trail – the section between Pittman Orchard trailhead and Conashaugh trailhead is closed due to eagle nesting from December 15 through July 15

 

Conditions can vary depending where you are in the park.

Construction and Road Closures

New Jersey

Construction Closures

• Old Mine Road between Worthington State Forest and Millbrook Village is closed for a restructuring and repaving project. For more information, please visit GAOA Old Mine Road Rehabilitation 2024 - Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov).

  • Pedestrian and cyclists are prohibited from entering the closure as it is an active construction zone.

  • Sites within this closure will be inaccessible, including Turtle Beach, Poxono Access, and Coppermine, Kaiser, and Van Campen Glen trailheads.

Road Closures

• Route 615 from Pompey Ridge Road to the Flatbrook Bridge

• Mountain Road from Buttermilk Falls south to Hainey Mills

• Main Street in Walpack Center is closed at the Flatbrook Bridge due to structural damage to the bridge.

  • To access Buttermilk Falls, take Strubel Road to Dimon Road through Stokes State Forest.

Pennsylvania

Construction Closures

• George W. Childs Park and associated trails

• National Park Drive (including Slateford Bridge)

• Route 611 Scenic Drive from Delaware Water Gap to Slateford

  • Includes Resort Point, Point of Gap, and Arrow Island Overlooks during construction
