Notes: At his baptism he was recorded as a "male child who was 8 years of age, a Nijor, son of gentile parents." In the baptismal record his godparent's (and actual foster parent's) surnames were reversed. This is known because he took the surname of his foster father, José Miguel Palomino, who shows up in other records with is wife, Teresa Maldonado. Juan Bautista was later godfather to Nijora children, and probably their foster father.
