Engaging Educational Programs at Cabrillo National Monument

Welcome to the educational hub of Cabrillo National Monument! Our programs are designed to inspire students of all ages by exploring the rich history and natural beauty of this remarkable site. Whether you're an educator seeking classroom resources, a student eager for interactive learning, or a lifelong learner wanting to deepen your knowledge, we offer a range of activities and resources tailored to your needs.

Join us in uncovering the fascinating stories, diverse ecosystems, and unique cultural heritage that make Cabrillo National Monument an essential part of our shared history.

Reservations have been filled for the remainder of this academic year. You still have the option to request a Self-Guided educational visit from the website under Self-Guided Field Trips.

Reservations will re-open 1 September 2026 for the 2026 - 2027 academic year.


Educational Program Options

Educators can select from two program types:

• Ranger-Led Programs: Guided by knowledgeable park rangers, these programs provide students with an immersive experience, bringing the park's history and natural wonders to life. Please note: School groups are NOT permitted to enter the gift store to ensure a focused and equitable educational experience. Thank you for your understanding.

• Self-Guided Programs: Ideal for those who prefer flexibility, these programs allow students to explore the park at their own pace while still engaging with its natural and historical significance.

Self-Guided Field Trips

Educational groups are invited to explore Cabrillo National Monument at their own pace through self-guided field trips. These visits provide an excellent opportunity to discover the monument’s natural, cultural, and historical features independently, without the need for ranger-led programs.

Key Information

• No Reservations Required: Self-guided trips do not require advance reservations.
• Fee Waiver Eligibility: Educational groups may qualify for a park fee waiver. Check eligibility and application details before your visit.
