Choosing an Entrance Pass

Do you have or qualify for a discounted America the Beautiful Pass?

If you already have an America the Beautiful—the National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass, that's the only entrance pass you need. Seniors, military, visitors with a permanent disability, and families with a 4th grader are eligible for a free or discounted America the Beautiful pass.

America the Beautiful Passes are non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. Passholders must show valid photo identification (ID) with each pass.

2024 Free Entrance Days in the National Parks

Come experience the national parks! All National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone (other fees may apply). Mark your calendar for these entrance fee-free dates:

• Monday, January 15 — Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
• Saturday, April 20 — First Day of National Park Week
• Wednesday, June 19 — Juneteenth
• Sunday, August 4 — The Great American Outdoors Act
• Saturday, September 28 — National Public Lands Day
• Monday, November 11 — Veterans Day

 

ENTRANCE FEES

Adults 16 and older: $10

For adults 16 years and older the entrance fee is $10 USD. Children under age 16 are free. Entrance passes may be purchased online. The entrance fee gets you into the historic Danish Fort Christiansvaern for three (3) days. Children under 16 years of age are admitted free with an adult. Owners of valid Federal passes such as the Senior Pass, Access Pass, and the America the Beautiful Annual Passes, NPS Volunteers, and military are admitted free of charge under the established guidelines for those passes.

Secure two hour parking at Fort Christiansvaern is available until 4:30 pm.

 

For $80, the Annual Interagency Pass covers entrance fees at national parks and national wildlife refuges and standard amenity day use fees at national forests and grasslands, and at lands and waters managed by the Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, and the Army Corps of Engineers.

Annual and Lifetime Passes

You can purchase all of these passes at the visitor booth in Fort Christiansvaern. You can also order these by phone at: 888-ASK USGS (1-888-275-8747) extension 3 (hours of operation are: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Mountain Time), or online or via mail at the USGS Store with an additional $10 processing fee.

America the Beautiful – The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands - $80.00 (Annual)
This annual pass covers entrance fees at national parks and national wildlife refuges and standard amenity day use fees at national forests and grasslands, and at lands and waters managed by the Bureau of Land Management, the Bureau of Reclamation, and the Army Corps of Engineers. It admits the pass owner and their accompanying passengers, or three (3) adults. The Annual Pass costs $80.00.

America the Beautiful – The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Senior Pass - $20.00 (Annual), $80.00 (Lifetime)
This pass for U.S. citizens and permanent residents age 62 and older will get the cardholder plus three (3) additional persons age 16 and older entry to Fort Christiansvaern. Passes are sold at the visitor booth in Fort Christiansvaern. The Lifetime Pass costs $80, and the Annual Senior Pass is available for $20.

Access Pass - $0.00
This is a no-fee lifetime pass for individuals with permanent disabilities. This pass will get the cardholder plus 3 additional persons age 16 and older entry to Fort Christiansvaern. Applicants must provide documentation of permanent disability and residency or citizenship.

Annual Pass for U.S. Military - $0.00
This pass is available only for active duty military personnel and dependents with proper identification (Common Access Card or Military ID/Form 1173). The Annual Military Pass may be obtained at the visitor booth at Fort Christiansvaern.
