McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine, Hampton National Historic Site and the Star-Spangled Banner National Historic Trail, all based in Baltimore, Maryland. He begins his new role on April 25, 2021.

“These three sites are iconic both to the nation and the people of Baltimore” said Conway. “David’s broad experience within the National Park Service has uniquely positioned him to manage these extraordinary places and build relationships with the diverse communities that surround and support these sites”.

“Together, Fort McHenry, Hampton and the Star-Spangled Banner Trail provide a uniquely Chesapeake lens to America’s history,” said Moore. “It is more important than ever that we tell these stories with honesty and frankness to include all Americans. Our success will depend on nurturing the relationships we have with the great partners and stakeholders to these places.”

Moore comes to Baltimore with a great deal of experience in the National Park Service. He leaves Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island as chief of Administration, where he served for two years directly managing the formulation and execution of a parkwide budget of annual and multi-year funding totaling $32 million.

In the last decade Moore has served in a number of positions: associate regional director of the Region 1 - National Capital Area in Administration and Business; acting deputy superintendent of Yosemite National Park in California; deputy associate director for Workforce and Inclusion for the NPS; associate regional director in Administration for the Northeast Region; and acting superintendent at Valley Forge National Historical Park. In 2013 he was named a senior executive fellow at the Kennedy School of Government.

Moore holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Connecticut, an MBA in marketing and finance from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Hartford, Connecticut and a masters in education in secondary school studies from Arcadia University in Wyncote, Pennsylvania.
