Explore waysides throughout the City of Oak Ridge. Oak Ridge, the largest of the three secret cities, was home to top-secret uranium enrichment during the Manhattan Project. At the project's peak during World War II, approximately 75,000 people lived and worked in Oak Ridge, enriching uranium for use in Little Boy, the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan on August 6, 1945.
