No entrance pass required

An entrance pass is not required to access Manhattan Project National Historical Park.

Other National Park Service sites may require an entrance pass or fee. Depending on your trip plans, an interagency pass may save you money.

FEES

Visitor Centers with Manhattan Project National Historical Park

• Hanford (Tri-Cities), WA: There is no admission fee into the Hanford Visitor Center.
• Los Alamos, NM: There is no admission fee for the Los Alamos Visitor Center.
• Oak Ridge, TN: While there is no admission fee for the Oak Ridge Visitor Center, this visitor center is located located within the Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge. For a fee, you may also explore the Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge, where you will find many exhibits on science, the environment, and Manhattan Project history.

US Department of Energy Guided Tours

• Hanford: The Department of Energy offers free tours.
• Los Alamos: The Department of Energy offers free tours.
• Oak Ridge: The Department of Energy charges a fee for their tour.

PASSES

 

America the Beautiful - The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass Series

A pass is your ticket to more than 2,000 federal recreation sites. Each pass covers entrance fees at national parks and national wildlife refuges as well as standard amenity fees (day use fees) at national forests and grasslands, and at lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. A pass covers entrance, standard amenity fees and day use fees for a driver and all passengers in a personal vehicle at per vehicle fee areas (or up to four adults at sites that charge per person). Children age 15 or under are admitted free. Learn more about the America the Beautiful Passes.

Where to Get Passes

Search a list of all federal recreation sites, including national parks, where the passes are issued. In addition to direct sales of Interagency Passes at national parks and other federal recreation sites, many of the America the Beautiful (Interagency) Passes are available for purchase online. Please visit the USGS Online Store for detailed information about how to purchase a pass online.

While none of our visitor centers sell passes, each unit has agencies nearby that sell the passes.

• Hanford (Tri-Cities): McNary National Wildlife Refuge
• Los Alamos: Bandelier National Monument
• Oak Ridge: Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area, and Obed Wild and Scenic River

 

TYPES OF PASSES

 

Annual Pass

Cost: $80
Available to: Everyone

Military Pass

Cost: Free
Available to: Current US military members and their dependents in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and Space Force, as well as Reserve and National Guard members. Also includes US military veterans and Gold Star families.

Annual 4th Grade Pass

Cost: Free, valid for the duration of the 4th grade school year though the following summer (September-August)
Available to: US 4th graders (including home-schooled and free-choice learners 10 years of age) with a valid Every Kid Outdoors paper pass.

Senior Pass

Cost: $80 Lifetime or $20 Annual
Available to: US citizens or permanent residents age 62 or over. Applicants must provide documentation of age and residency or citizenship.

Access Pass

Cost: Free
Available to: US citizens or permanent residents with permanent disabilities. Applicants must provide documentation of permanent disability and residency or citizenship.

Volunteer Pass

Cost: Free
Available to: Volunteers with 250 service hours with federal agencies that participate in the Interagency Pass Program.
