Whiskeytown, California - Whiskeytown National Recreation Area will continue with prescribed fire activities within the East Boundary Project Area during the week of January 26, 2015. Approximately 45-100 acres of pine and oak woodland is planned for ignition if conditions are favorable for meeting project fuels reduction objectives and air quality requirements. Each day throughout the week, units ranging from 30-45 acres may be burned within the larger project area. Each ignition of individual units is scheduled to last one day with some limited fire activity and smoke expected 1-3 days afterward.
