Choosing an Entrance PassDo you have or qualify for a discounted America the Beautiful Pass?If you already have an America the Beautiful—the National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass, that's the only entrance pass you need. Seniors, military, visitors with a permanent disability, and families with a 4th grader are eligible for a free or discounted America the Beautiful pass. How often do you plan to visit national parks in the next 12 months?If you don't qualify for a discounted America the Beautiful pass, we recommend choosing an entrance pass based on your trip plans.
Entrance PassesStandard Entrance Pass$15.00–$25.00 Park Entrance is $15 per person and is good for 7 days. Park Entrance is $25 per vehicle and is good for 7 days. Park entrance for motorcycles is $20 per motorcycles and is good for 7 days.  Annual Entrance - Park$55.00 Valid at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, Lassen Volcanic National Park, Crater Lake National Park, and Lava Beds National Monument for twelve months from the date of purchase, for unlimited visits to all four parks. It admits the pass holder and any accompanying persons in a single, private, non-commercial vehicle, or the pass holder and 3 others when entry is by other means (bicycle and foot).
This pass covers entrance fees only and is not refundable and/or transferable.

America the Beautiful Passes are non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. Passholders must show valid photo identification (ID) with each pass. Entrance Passes can be purchased at the Whiskeytown Visitor Center, Online at recreation.gov, or through the Interangency Passes site above.
Academic Entrance Fee WavierGroups from bona fide educational institutions are eligible for an entrance fee waiver if they are coming to study park resources. Requests should be sent at least 2 weeks in advance of visit using the Application for Academic Fee Waiver form. 
NPS Annual PassesNew in 2024, the Interagency Annual and Whiskeytown Annual Passes will have one signature line for a single passholder. NPS America the Beautiful - 2024 Annual Pass for Active Duty MilitaryCost: Free Available for: Active Duty Military For active duty military personnel and dependents with proper identification (CAC Card or DD Form 1173). The pass admits the pass holder and passengers in a non-commercial vehicle at per vehicle fee areas and pass holder + 3 adults, not to exceed 4 adults, at per person fee areas (children under 16 are admitted free).
America the Beautiful - 2024 Military Lifetime PassCost: Free Available for: U.S. military veterans with a valid veteran ID and Gold Star Families with a valid Gold Star Family Voucher How to get your pass: This pass can be obtained in person at these locations, or online at the USGS Online Store. NPS America the Beautiful - 2024 Annual Senior Pass
Available for: US citizens or permanent residents ages 62 or over. Applicants must provide documentation of age and residency or citizenship. How to purchase: This pass can be obtained in person at these locations, or online at the USGS Online Store. 
Annual 4th Grade PassCost: FreeAvailable for: U.S. 4th graders (including home-schooled and free-choice learners 10 years of age) with a valid Every Kid in a Park paper pass. Valid for the duration of the 4th grade school year through the following summer (September-August).The pass admits the passholder and all passengers in a non-commercial vehicle where per-vehicle fees are charged or the pass holder +3 adults for per-person fee areas (children under 16 are admitted free).The pass does not cover other recreation fees such as campground fees. How to get your pass: Paper passes can be obtained by visiting the Every Kid in a Park website and printing a temporary paper pass. Bring the paper pass to the Whiskeytown Visitor center and exchange in-person for a 4th grade pass. The 4th grader needs to be present. Digital version of the paper pass (such as on smart phones or tablets) will not be accepted to exchange for an Annual 4th Grade Pass.The pass is non-transferable. |
