The Visitor Center and Museum is open 5-days (Wednesday-Sunday) and Labor Day (Monday, September 5, 2022). Operating hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The grounds (including all trails) at Camp Nelson National Monument are open 7-days a week, sunrise to sunset. The Perry "White" House is not yet open due to ongoing renovations.

Camp Nelson National Monument is located along highway US 27 about 20 miles south of Lexington, Kentucky, 6 miles south of Nicholasville on US 27, and 7.5 miles southeast of Wilmore along US 1268. The park entrance is on the original Danville Pike, adjacent to US 27, one mile north of the Camp Nelson National Cemetery. The visitor center is just inside the park gates.

There are no fees associated with visiting Camp Nelson National Monument.

The Visitor Center and Museum is open 5-days a week (Wednesday-Sunday) and Labor Day (Monday, September 5, 2022). Operating hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Visitor Center includes a museum exhibits and a short film (17 min.) about Camp Nelson's role during the American Civil War.
